This week we had the joy of hearing Jeff Purswell preach a message entitled “A People of God’s Presence.” We looked across biblical redemptive history to see that God’s eternal purpose is to dwell among a people that He has made his own. How amazing! Let us fully consider the implications of this great picture of God’s grace. Pondering these questions, may be a help:
- Which word would describe the intimacy of your current relationship with God – “casual cool” or “deep”? Why?

- Have you ever considered God’s purposes throughout history? How does having an understanding of this affect your relationship with God?
- God’s desire is not just to “rule”; it is not just to “save”; it is to “dwell among”. How does this purpose of God affect the way that you understand the grace that you have found through the gospel?
- How does knowing that God’s desire is to “dwell among” affect the way that you see your devotions, community group, and Sunday mornings?
- How does God dwell with us in a way that is different than all of history? What is the significance of this in our lives?
May we live differently this week knowing that the Spirit of God dwells among us and in us, and may our relationship with God be deep. Through the finished work of Christ God has made a way for us to draw near and meet with Him.
