In this week’s message, entitled “The Privilege and Cost of Mission”, we examined Acts 13:1-3. We heard how the gospel mission is a privilege that supersedes comfort and community. To better understand this reality and make application in our lives, let us consider these questions:
1. God called the church in Antioch to send out Paul and Barnabas. How does the sacrifice of this church challenge or encourage you?
2. As Christians, we are not our own, but belong to the Lord, having been bought with a price. How can this reality help us in embracing both the privilege and the cost of the gospel mission?
3. What comforts are you tempted to anchor your life in? How can the gospel be a help in pulling up these kinds of anchors?
4. Are you more aware of the cost of mission or the privilege of mission? How can you increase your awareness of the privilege of the gospel mission?
Let’s pray this week for an ever growing desire to see the gospel go forth, that this desire would be far greater than our desire for comfort or community.
